Can I Sign Up?
Welwyn and Hatfield volunteer police cadets is for people aged between 14/18 years old. If you are aged between 13 - 16½ you can apply to join our police cadet group.
The reason we do not accept applicants older than 16½ years old is because we have a waiting list. Some applicants may have to wait over a year to join after applying for our cadet group. We want to make sure the cadets who join our cadet group receive the full benefits of joining our cadet group.
You can also apply if you have a criminal record. Having a criminal record will not stop you from getting into our police cadet group, but you will have to declare any Caution/Reprimand/Final Warning/ RJR you have received. All applicants will be vetted upon joining the police cadet group. Some offences will have to be taken into consideration as to whether you would be suitable to join our police cadet group, but we will deal with this on a case to case basis.
